Fairy Tail creator shares new Erza and Lucy sketches

Fairy Tail may have published its last chapter recently, but the mangaka loves it so much that he has turned up the heat on Erza and Lucy. Fairy Tail‘s original manga creator Hiro Mashima recently shared these quite steamy Lucy and Erza sketches on Twitter:

Both characters are depicted in sensual poses with Lucy showing a side of herself rarely seen in Mashima’s original work, and Erza wearing a sweater and not much else. Fans responded to this positively, each tweeting about their love for the duo. It does have its detractors, however.

Some fans want more “intense” versions of this art, while others want to see Mashima show this same kind of love toward other series characters like Juvia. It seems that each time Mashima posts his artwork, the fans often begin a debate about which character should really get the attention.

This is not the first time Mashima has uploaded special sketches of the duo to Twitter either as last Halloween he depicting both of them in in Halloween cosplays. Lucy donned a tight-fitting cat costume while Erza wore a golden Playboy bunny suit. This pair of sketches also led to a similar fan debate as Erza and Lucy got the brunt of the focus back then as well.

Fairy Tail‘s final chapter released in the 34th issue of Kondansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, and the 63rd and final volume of the manga released November 11 in Japan. The series ran for 11 years and has sold over 60 million copies worldwide.

For those unfamiliar with Fairy Tail, the series was originally created by Hiro Mashima. It is set in a fantasy world full of magic where Natsu Dragneel, a “Dragon Slayer” (Mage who can fight Dragons using their own magic) is in search of his missing foster father, the fire dragon Igneel. As he and his wizarding guild Fairy Tail get into adventures, Natsu always tries to find a way to succeed. The series ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine from August 2006 to July 2017 and has spawned 60 million copies. It was later adapted into an anime by A-1 Pictures, Dentsu Inc., and Satelight in 2009 and ended its first run in 2013. A second series ran from 2014 to 2016, and a third series is planned for a october 2018 release.
