A new season has been announced for the anime adaptation of Ashihara Daisuke’s manga World Trigger. The main cast will also be reprising their roles in the new series.
The story follows the fight between invaders from another world known as ‘Neighbors’ and the National Defense Agency known as ‘Border’ who resist them. We follow the lives of a Neighbour boy named Kuga Yuma and a member of Border named Mikumo Osamu.
The science-fiction action story first won over fans when it began running in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2013 and continued to gain new readers after moving to Jump Square in 2018. The first anime adaptation ran for 78 episodes from October 2014 to April 2016. As with the first adaptation, unfortunately, Toei Animation will continue to produce the series.
The creator of the series, Ashihara Daisuke, has also released a comment regarding the good news.
It’s been a year since World Trigger moved over to Jump Square, and it’s thanks to the readers that a new season of the anime has been announced. What a wonderful way to wrap up 2019. I’ll keep doing my best at my own pace next year, so please keep watch!
