The second season of the anime adaptation of Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) will start airing in October 2020. A teaser visual has also been released, which reminds us of the final scene from the anime’s first season.
Yakusoku no Neverland is based on a manga by Shirai Kaiu (story) and Posuka Demizu (art), which is currently running in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Described as a prison break story with a twist, the manga has been collated into 16 volumes so far and has sold over 16 million copies. The first season of the anime adaptation aired between January and March 2019, and was a huge success.
Along with the new teaser visual, the anime’s official website has been updated with a page which lets you look back on some of the most memorable moments from the first season.
Like the first season, the second one is due to broadcast in Fuji TV’s famous Noitamina time-slot.
A live-action movie adaptation of the manga is also slated to be open at Japanese cinemas on 18 December 2020, making 2020 truly a year of Yakusoku no Neverland.
